It’s time for Christine and I to go on vacation this next week

As the festivities of Thanksgiving come to an end, my wife Christine and I are gearing up for a trip we have had planned for many months. We are going off on vacation for a week and we’ll be returning on Friday, December 4, 2009. And when I say “vacation,” I mean a REAL one where there will be no phones, no e-mails, no Internet access, or any communication with the outside world. No, we’re not gonna be holed up in some bunker deep beneath the Earth’s crust…but we will be away.

So, rather than leaving you high and dry with nothing to check out while I’m gone, I have a few treats for you. Of course, you can always peruse my low-carb links blog for links to all of your favorite low-carb bloggers and resources out there to keep you PLENTY occupied. But here are a few things of interest you may enjoy as well:

On November 19, 2009, I held my second Global TeleClass on the subject “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Even Through The Holidays And Beyond.” Several people asked if I could rebroadcast this talk I gave on tips for making it through the holidays on your healthy low-carb lifestyle and I’m happy to oblige. It also includes some interesting Q&A time at the end. ENJOY!You’ll notice the TeleClass was a little harrowing with all the background noise and repeated requests for people to mute themselves. For some reason, I was locked out of my moderator access and had to give the talk on the student access. It was flustering trying to deal with that distraction, but I did the best I could. Here are some of the comments–both supportive and critical–that people left about the TeleClass:

Jimmy did an amazing job of recovering from the technical issues he experienced. He did a wonderful job of reeling it all in and focusing in a very stressful and potentially flustering situation. He is gifted and talented and it was an honor to sit under his teaching. I learned some new things I had not thought of before. I look forward to all of his classes in the future!
**********
Good speaking voice, easy to understand, speaks in layman’s terms. He’s patient (with tech glitches) and very personable.
**********
Material in the first 15 minutes was of no content and nothing was offerred. I was very disappointed with this information – just a lot of boring talk – could not even finish the call.
**********
Jimmy is an enthusiatic and effective spokesperson for the Low Carb life style. His podcasts are usually fascinating. This class, however, was not as informative or interesting as his typical podcast interview.

THANKS to everyone who listened LIVE and my apologies for the technical issues. I am working with the organizers of the TeleClass to make sure this doesn’t happen with my next one. Hopefully you enjoyed it anyway!

As mentioned on the TeleClass and with all the banners I have on my web sites, you may have noticed my brand new book 21 Life Lessons From Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb: How The Healthy Low-Carb Lifestyle Changed Everything I Thought I Knew is now available! WOO HOO! After spending most of 2009 writing this book about all the amazing lessons I’ve learned about low-carb over the past five years, this nearly 500-page book is ready to take on the world. I worked hard to make this a very informative book chock full of the science supporting carbohydrate-restriction. Additionally, it includes some stories that have happened in my life through my blog and life.

Here’s a YouTube video I made about the new book:

So, for now it’s so long until I return from vacation! THANK YOU for supporting the mission of “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” with your presence here each week and I’ll see you all when I get back!
